Worker鈥檚 Compensation is a benefit program that pays for medical treatment and wages lost due to eligible work-related injuries or illnesses.

What do you do if you have a work-related injury or illness?

  • Seek first aid and/or medical treatment immediately, if needed.
  • Report the accident or injury to your supervisor before the end of your shift or at least within 24 hours of the time of the accident or injury.
  • Notify any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.

New eForm process now available! 

  1. Employee must complete the eForm.
  2. Supervisor must complete the eForm.
  3. Additional information to be completed and sent to Diane Hunter (hunterd@uwec.edu).
    1. , if illness/injury required medical attention.

What to do after being treated?

The timely return of injured employees to productive roles in the workforce is one of the key components of the worker鈥檚 compensation mission. UW-System gathered input and feedback on how to make this process efficient, resulting in the creation of the (UWSA Policy 635).
