Junior biochemistry/molecular biology major Rachel Stein shares her study abroad experience from Spain. From how she worked a full semester abroad into her graduation plan to her five favorite things about Spain, she shares it all to help other Blugolds enjoy the international experience.

Matthias McDermott, a biology major and pre-professional health sciences minor, found that the Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College significantly enriched his college experience, particularly in the development of communication skills. In addition to his academic pursuits, he was deeply involved in research, community service and leadership roles, including his work with the National Guard and as an honors mentor.

Dr. Rae Langes, an assistant professor in the department of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality studies at UW-Eau Claire, is among the recipients of the 2024 Dr. P.B. Poorman Award for Outstanding Achievement on Behalf of LGBTQ+ People from the Universities of Wisconsin.

Spanish teacher Jodi Resch Brownell hasn’t let her location in a northern Wisconsin community of 1,700 people prevent her from traveling the world and sharing her global experiences with her students.

Joosten, a 2013 music composition graduate of UW-Eau Claire, is a highly celebrated director, composer, conductor and performer, currently touring the country with various Broadway projects. She took time recently to premiere and accompany a new composition performed by UW-Eau Claire and UW-Eau Claire – Barron County choral, wind and brass ensembles.
