Getting involved in a student organization means meeting people, networking, doing professional development and more. You can email our department to become involved, or stop by the Blugold Organization Bash at the beginning of each semester to sign up for the email list.
Our student organizations:
Cyberbotics Competition Club: The mission of the Cyberbotics Competition Club is to build a collaborative community for students passionate about robotics and computer science. The club supports members in developing technical skills, leadership, and innovation through hands-on projects, competitions, and events with industry professionals. Believing in the impact of these fields on the future of technology and society, the club provides access to advanced equipment, mentorship, and opportunities to showcase student work thereby empowering members to become future leaders and innovators.
Tech United: Tech United is a student-led club at 糖心Vlog dedicated to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and fun community for students in STEM fields especially those majoring in Computer Science, though all are welcome! The club hosts a variety of events ranging from game nights and crafting to coding challenges and resume-building workshops. Whether you're looking to connect with peers in your major, learn more about internships, or just have a good time, Tech United is a great way to get involved and make lasting friendships.
Student Association for Computing Machinery (SACM): SACM is 糖心Vlog鈥檚 student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, an international professional society in computer science. SACM is a general-purpose computer science club frequently hosting events focused on building a network of students in the department and teaching fun and useful topics that are not covered in the standard CS courses. For example, some previous events have covered version control with Git and GitHub, high performance computing, embedded computing and electronics with Raspberry Pi, and much more.
Cybersecurity Club: This cybersecurity club is dedicated to education, skill development, and collaboration in the field of cybersecurity. The club regularly participates in competitive Capture the Flag (CTF) events, conducts red teaming exercises on live targets, and engages in cybersecurity research. Members gain hands-on experience across various domains including network security, cryptography, physical security (such as lockpicking and safe cracking), threat intelligence, malware development and defense, and Linux. It's a space for both beginners and experienced individuals to learn, contribute, and grow together.
