Accountability
Reports to the Competitive Sports Coordinator
Responsibilities
The Intramural Sports Official is responsible for working closely with the Competitive Sports Supervisors and Competitive Sports Coordinator to effectively run the 糖心Vlog Intramural Sports program.
Specific Duties
- Enforce all Recreation and Intramural Sports guidelines, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Call all intramural contests with honesty and integrity
- Score keep contests and aid officials and Supervisors to ensure safe and fair play
- Maintain an appropriate professional demeanor and attire
- Manage players and spectators on the field/court
- Participate in official evaluations
- Attend required training sessions and clinics
- Enforce established rules during intramural competitions
- Enforce and evaluate the sportsmanship of intramural teams and participants
- Make every effort to protect the safety and well-being of all Recreation and Intramural Sports participants, including players, coaches, spectators, and employees
- Ensure correct attire of each participant, no jewelry or prohibited equipment, etc.
- Rotate between on-field official and scorekeeper as necessary
- Run captain鈥檚 meetings prior to each competition
- Report results and scores of intramural competitions to Supervisors
- Ensure proper use of all university equipment by program participants
- Handle on-site disputes involving player conflict and rule interpretation
- Attend all additional in-service training sessions throughout the year
- Be responsible for all game management aspects and program/facility equipment
- Partake in program marketing shifts as needed

Responsibilities
The Competitive Sports Scorekeeper is responsible for working closely with the Intramural Sports Supervisors and Officials to effectively run the 糖心Vlog Intramural Sports program.
Specific Duties
- Report to work 30 minutes prior to the start of the first scheduled contest. Go directly to the court and check in with the IM Supervisor and obtain the necessary equipment and supplies
- Help set up tables/chairs/score clocks
- Locate all teams and have each team captain sign in their players and turn in participant ID鈥檚. Let the IM officials know when all player ID鈥檚 have been collected so that the game can begin on time
- Fill out the information on the score sheet completely, including: team name, date, court number and game time. Indicate team name by jersey color
- Be attentive at all times and seek to prevent or minimize problems through quality scorekeeping
- Stay in constant communication with the IM officials
- Properly keep time. This includes following all rules for maintaining the time of game as well as indicating the time remaining throughout the game
- Correctly keep score. Determine the half time score and the final score based on the results of the score sheet. At the end of the game, complete the information on the bottom of the score sheet
- Keep track of team and individual fouls.

Responsibilities
The Competitive Sports Supervisor is responsible for working closely with the Intramural Sports Officials, Scorekeepers, and Coordinator to effectively run 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Intramural Sports program. The Competitive Sports Supervisor is also responsible for working closely with the Competitive Sports Coordinator and Club Sports Program to help supervise and administrate home club and community events at Bollinger Fields, Carson Park, Hobbs Ice Arena, and other community facilities.
Job Duties
Intramurals
- Provide on-site supervision and management of a diverse selection of intramural sports and activities
- Complete all set-up and take down of necessary equipment for specified shifts
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and discipline 40+ student officials
- Provide quality leadership and customer service to the officials, participants, and fellow supervisors
- Maintain a safe environment for intramural participants by inspecting playing areas prior to competition
- Verify eligibility of all intramural participants
- Provide conflict resolution during disputes or disagreements between players and officials
- Serve as a first responder to any injuries or medical situations in accordance with the emergency action plan
- Enforce university, department, and intramural program policies and procedures with all participants and staff
- Serve as the liaison between intramural student staff and professional staff in the Recreation Department
- Check time of arrival at the site for each official
- Complete all departmental forms accurately and completely
- Assist with registration and promotional activities for the IM program

Club Sports
- Provide quality leadership and exceptional service as Supervisor to the Club Participants, officials, and spectators

- Ensure the proper set up and use of all university equipment used in club competitions and events
- Retrieve all necessary items from the Recreation Office prior to shift including Club Sports Binder

- Monitor events and if an incident occurs 鈥 appropriately manage the situation
- Distribute and collect liability waivers

Responsibilities
The Crest Fitness Center Desk Attendant is responsible for providing quality customer service to fitness center members as well and ensuring a clean, safe, and properly supervised facility.
Specific Duties
- Serve as the primary customer service representative for the facility
- Monitor memberships/facility access
- Complete daily cleaning tasks
- Straighten equipment as needed during shift
- Perform frequent facility sweeps to ensure the safety and well-being of participants
- Launder cleaning rags and member towels
- Fill/replace personal hygiene materials as needed i.e. shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc.

Responsibilities
The Exercise Programmer will create, facilitate, and monitor safe and effective workouts for UW- Eau Claire students, faculty and staff. This position will use Micro-fit to assess their client鈥檚 baseline date and develop an exercise program based on their client鈥檚 interests and goals. Students finishing up their 300 level Kinesiology classes may apply. Applicant has to have completed community fitness or a similar client program.
Specific Duties
- Will be responsible for no more than 5 clients at one time.

The Archery Range Officer is responsible for providing safe access to the Environmental Adventure Center Archery Range, facility orientation and equipment handling.

The Bike Mechanic will organize and maintain outdoor equipment, service customer bikes, serve as support for workshops, special events, rental and lease programs and will assist with bike trips and tours.
Specific Duties
- Perform maintenance on a wide range of bikes including high end road bikes to mass produced bikes with high maintenance needs.
- Provide free safety inspections

The Climbing Wall Facilitator is responsible for providing safe access to the McPhee/Ade Olson sports complex climbing wall.
Specific Duties
- Knowledge of ALL workings of the climbing wall operation and safety protocol.
- Knowledge of all systems and procedures necessary to teach participants proper belay skills consistent with 糖心Vlog policy and
- procedures.
- Factual knowledge pertaining to physical structure (breaking strengths, equipment, equipment wear, knot tying, etc.)
- Documentation procedures, i.e. activity waiver, orientation / skills check.
- Establish goals and objectives with students (reference skills sheet).
- Enforce 糖心Vlog policy and procedures to ensure safety of all climbers.
- Inspect equipment prior to use.
- Maintain all equipment and report any damage to Environmental Adventure Center Manager.
- Log ropes consistent with 糖心Vlog policy and procedures.
- Secure wall when not in use.
- Have a general knowledge of the Adventure Education philosophy.
Certification and Training:
- 2 陆 day, PCIA Climbing Wall Instructor Certification (provided upon employment)
- Knowledge of ALL LOP鈥橲 (Local Operating Procedures) and systems necessary to set up and lead participating individuals through the climbing wall.

The Course
The Eagle's View Challenge Ropes Course offers a series of activities designed for individual and group participation regardless of age, physical limitation or ability level. The mission of this program is to concentrate on individual and group skill development by presenting a series of activities that involve physical and emotional risk with the opportunity to succeed (or sometimes fail) within a supportive group atmosphere. Participants develop skills in problem solving, communication, decision making, trust, as well as gain a strong sense of self-worth and accomplishment. The Ropes Course promotes calculated risk-taking enhancing leadership and management skills, facilitating organizational change, and building effective teams.
Specific Duties
Facilitators will be working the majority of the time in a physically demanding environment, requiring both strength and
cardiovascular endurance. Consequently, trainers need to be in excellent physical health and possess the following skills:
- A positive attitude and encouragement among participants
- The ability to encourage participation while honoring each participant鈥檚 right to choose
- An appreciation of heights
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Ability to discuss, establish group goals and develop lesson plans prior to group arrival
- Monitor the behavior and activity of participants, intervening when necessary
Training/Certification:
- Each instructor must facilitate a minimum of 50 hours per year; sessions will typically take place on weekends and during the week; facilitators must be available during either times throughout the year, including summer

The EAC Student Manager position is responsible for reserving, renting, and returning items in a timely and accurate
manner. Customer service is also an imperative part of working at the EAC. The student manager is responsible for
keeping the EAC clean and organized while maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment. Student employees should
be well informed of all activities, programs and trips that the EAC takes part in.
Specific Duties
- Properly open and close the EAC
- Complete daily deposits, document total earnings, and balance the cash register
- Perform periodic inventory
- Accurately complete rental contracts on the computer
- Maintain and improve the condition of equipment
- Clean, set up and/or hang returned rental equipment
- Check all rental equipment for damages/needed repairs
- Document all damages and remove damaged equipment from rental circulation
- Repair damaged equipment if possible
- Clean and organize rental center counter tops, desks, and floor

The Adventure Trip Leader is responsible for providing inexpensive, fun, educational, and safe opportunities for 糖心Vlog students to experience outdoor recreation.
Specific Duties
- Develop the trip itinerary; prepare and maintain a trip budget
- Establish goals and objectives for the trip
- Obtain knowledge and information about the trip destination/terrain
- Responsible for menu planning, food purchasing and repackaging, and preparing equipment
- Hold pre-trip meeting with participants, evaluate participants鈥 abilities and provide group instruction and leadership
- Take proper measures to maintain a safe environment, properly and responsibly care for participant injuries and conflicts
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with participants
- Exercise good problem solving and decision making skills
- Inventory and maintain all trip gear, assist with equipment clean-up and check-in

Payroll and Benefits Specialist through Human Resource and Fitness Coordinator through Recreation and Sport Facilities.
Responsibilities
The Employee Wellness Intern will be responsible for planning and facilitating programs and services that support employee wellness on campus. This is a split position between Human Resources and Recreation. The intern will set up office hours each week that may be spent in one or both departments and report to a representative in that that area. Must be able to commit to 10-12 hours per week.
Specific Duties
- Assist Human Resources with various projects and events which could include Benefits Fair, onboarding, recruitment, research and Workers Compensation
- Research and develop a monthly employee newsletter that markets wellness opportunities on campus and in the surrounding community
- Plan and facilitate 1-2 special programs per semester i.e. brown bag lunch, employee challenge, seminar, etc.
- Co-facilitate the biometric screening event with a Human Resources representative
- Plan and facilitate an Employee Wellness Fair (Spring semester only)
- Develop marketing materials geared toward new hires- work with the on boarding program
- Assess participation barriers and develop strategies to increase employee engagement in the Employee Wellness program

Responsibilities
The Financial Assistant is responsible for general cash management and daily deposits of revenues from the Recreation Fusion Online, Environmental Adventure Center and the Recreation Office.
Specific Duties
- Complete the required bank reconciliation and deposits along with submission of 糖心Vlog revenue reports
- Balance of cash register(s) daily, prepare revenue reports and data entry on Excel and University eAccounting Systems
- Coordinate, organize, and maintain established Jigs Up Fish/Raffle tickets. Including distribution, collection and verifying figures. Continuously compiling reports with ticket/money collection data
- Maintain complex financial data filing system
- Complete additional budget reports and other duties as assigned

Responsibilities
The CPR / FIRST AID /AED instructor is responsible for the overall development and implementation of the First Aid, CPR, and AED training program offered to the students and full time staff of the Recreation department. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching materials for the courses according to the American Red Cross policies, setting up course schedules at the start of each semester (4-6 classes per semester) maintaining all of the materials needed for the courses, completion of all paperwork, communication with departments regarding enrollees and completions, certification notification to participants.
Specific Duties
- Establish a schedule for 1 鈥 4 classes per month for no more than 12 participants per session.

** Non-Federal Student Employment allows students to work on-campus under a non-federal work account. This employment is NOT based on need. This employment is intended to allow students to earn money to help pay for their educational expenses and encourages students to gain valuable career-related experience. Any student is eligible for Non-Federal Student Employment. A student is considered to be anyone enrolled in at least one credit of course work.
Student Funding Request
Recreation and Sport Operations values student development and leadership. For Students who are currently employed by the department, funds have been set aside to financially support events/training that are considered necessary for employment or will otherwise benefit the student and the department. This may include a workshop, training, conference, certification, bringing in a trainer or speaker, or hosting a certification or training.
- Student must have approval of their supervisor
- Student pays for the training/conference and is reimbursed after successful completion
- If at least one semester remaining of employment with Recreation 鈥 up to 100% covered
- If training/conference happens with at least one full semester of employment, up to full support will be considered based on past performance and length of time employed by Recreation.
- If employed by Recreation and in the final semester at 糖心Vlog 鈥 up to 50% covered
- If training/conference happens in the final semester or after, partial support will be considered based on past performance and length of time employed by Recreation.
- Student must complete a Final Report and Travel Expense Report with all receipts in order to get reimbursed at the approved amount.
