Activate Your Account

Activate your account by visiting . You will need your username and campus ID, which are found in your admit letter or application acknowledgment email.

Submit Your $100 Enrollment Deposit

(Note: Not applicable for CHEPD, exchange students, or internal transfer students from ÌÇÐÄVlog – Barron County.)

After being admitted and activating your account, sign in to to pay your $100 (nonrefundable) enrollment deposit online using a credit card. Once you've logged in, select the Admissions tile, and click Pay Enrollment Deposit. From here you will indicate the term you were admitted to, whether you are a freshman or transfer student, and how you wish to pay your deposit(s). Alternatively, you can also submit this deposit through .

Spring/January Semester - December 1

Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (Okta Verify)

Okta adds another layer of protection to your account and information by requiring an additional verification step to log in. In addition to entering your password, Okta notifies you if someone logs into your account, prompting you to either allow or deny the login. .

Sign Payment Plan Agreement

To sign your Payment Plan Agreement (PPA), log into and go to Tasks > Holds > PPA. Completing this step along with paying your enrollment deposit (step 2 above) will let your academic advisor know you're ready to start planning your schedule!

Apply For Housing

to secure your spot in one of our residence halls. You will be notified of your residence hall placement and roommate a couple of weeks before the start of the semester.

Apply For A Host Friend (Optional)

Learn about the Host Friend Program, which creates and promotes cross-cultural understanding by fostering relationships between international students and Eau Claire area residents.

Apply For Scholarships (Optional)

(Not applicable for CHEPD, exchange, or IEP students.)

After activating your account, . Once you're logged in, scroll down and select Admissions Scholarship Application. For the scholarship descriptions, criteria, and amounts, visit our scholarship website.

Scholarship application deadlines:

Students who apply earlier may receive earlier notification of their scholarship award.

Apply For Your Student Visa

Unless you already have a valid F-1 visa, you will need to apply for one. Contact the U.S. consulate in your home country for information regarding the SEVIS fee and applying for a student visa.

Arrive In Eau Claire

Spring 2025 - Arrive in Eau Claire

In order to attend the required international student orientation week, plan to arrive in Eau Claire by Monday, January 20. You will have access to your residence hall beginning Monday, January 20, at 8:00 a.m.

The closest major airport is Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP). To reach Eau Claire, your options are:

  • Reserve a seat in advance on the MSP to Eau Claire (90-minute shuttle ride).
  • Book a connecting flight from MSP to the small airport in Eau Claire (EAU) on Sun Country Airlines (limited availability).

The Chicago O’Hare airport (ORD) may also be an option, but you must book a connecting flight to EAU through United Airlines. There is no convenient ground transportation between Chicago and Eau Claire, so make sure to book the connecting flight if you choose this routing option.

If you arrive in Eau Claire via one of the above methods on January 20, by advanced registration university sponsored transportation is available from the above locations to campus between 10AM and 10PM (only). Outside of this 12-hour arrival window you will need to use a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft or a taxi service upon your arrival in Eau Claire to get to the UW-Eau Claire campus. Be prepared to give the driver the street address of your residence hall.

The university is only able to offer arrival day transportation within Eau Claire. We are not able to offer transportation from MSP or ORD.

Once you have booked your flight, please complete our no later than January 15. This is also where you will complete the required registration for transportation to campus.

Attend International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students and will take place January 20-24. Your attendance is required throughout this week-long program. Further schedule details will be provided via email shortly before your arrival.

Submit Your Official Academic Records

(Not applicable for exchange students.)

If you applied for admission by providing unofficial copies of your academic credentials, you’ll need to provide the official documents to confirm your admission.

If you applied for admission with coursework still in progress at another school, you’ll need to submit a final transcript.

Mail or bring your official, original, or certified true copies of your academic records and graduation/degree certificate (if applicable) to the Admissions Office (Flesch Family Welcome Center).
